Pray It Forward

Hey there, are you here because you happen to own one of these cool cards above? Alright, tell you more. The Pray-It-Forward card is inspired by the movie Pay It Forward. It is a way to encourage crusaders to pray for each other, by making praying more fun, fresh and personal. The way it works is simple - 1st person holding the card writes his/her name in blank 1, and prays for another crusader. The 2nd person does the same and so forth until the 10th person writes his/her name on the card. Mr/Miss 10 then passes the card back to Anton/e5. 1 rule though, no repeat names on the same card pls. Not that there is a quota of prayer for any one person, but we want to also smother as many others in prayer as possible. Especially as exams is just around the corner. So happy praying, prayerers!

Pray for the Afflicted Nations

Myanmar:
1. Pray that the military regime will focus on saving lives in the most badly affected areas.
2. Pray that the government will be willing to accept as much international aid as possible.
3. Pray that there will not be impending widespread of infectious disease such as cholera.
4. Pray for good, lasting political solution to be made available to Myanmar.

China, Sichuan:
1. Pray for comfort among the families of those who were killed in the massive earthquakes
2. Pray for rescue work to be implemented smoothly and quick restoration of affected areas.
3. Pray for healing for the injured and hope for those who might still be trapped in rubble.
4. Pray that Christians in China will rise up as a strong witness of Christ, by availing themselves to care for the needy and injured.

For both countries:
1. Pray for God to be real to the victims who are injured, those who are short of food, water and shelter.
2. Pray for God's mercy to prevail in the afflicted lands.
3. Pray for Christian workers sent to these zones; for God's protection, wisdom and strength to be upon them, as they minister to the victims.
4. Pray that in even in the face of disasters, may these catastrophic events be an opportunity for multitudes to come to know and accept Christ.
5. Pray for the people of these afflicted nations that they will be able to find peace and hope in this difficult time; if only they will know God's eternity compared against their frailty.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

As our assignment deadlines and exams are drawing near, let’s ask God to keep our focus continually on Him so that we may be walking right with Him.

Whatever circumstances we face, our Almighty God is more than able and willing to remove the obstacles before us and deliver us through.

Pray for ourselves to be spirit-filled and empowered by God to accomplish His work in and through us.

In everything give thanks

As the semester draws near to a close let us give thanks to God for:
- who He is.
- how He has brought us through every event this sem, covering us under His wings when we are weak, providing us with what we need, showing His abundance of goodness..
- this past holy week pointing to His redemptive act to save us.

SM Appreciation & Thanksgiving

You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others. Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

1. Give thanks for our SMs :)
2. Pray for disciples who have been challenged to take up the role of being and SM but still are undecided, to be able to have a personal experience in hearing from God about taking this leap of faith
3. Pray for our DG-mates and DG sessions that God be among our midst as we have DG; and that we will truly have a heart for our DG mates (:

Thanksgiving & Easter Week (Personal Prayer and Reflections)
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1. Reflect on how God has proven to be Loving and Faithful; and give thanks :)
2. Reflect on your walk with God; and give thanks for He sent His only Son to die for us, that we may have the privilege to come before the throne of Grace freely :)
3. Give thanks for how God has worked in NTUCCC ministry, and carried us thus far
4. Give thanks for how He has brought you so far into the semester; sustaining you all the way.

Taking the Global Leap!

"I will make you into a great nation
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.” - Genesis 12:2

• Pray for each other, SMs and disciples, to take the step of faith to go for Gen12ii mission trip this year. Encourage each other to avail ourselves to be a blessing for God.
(Note: Online registration at http://campus.sccc.org.sg/gen12ii will close on 14 March 2008. There will not be any Gen12ii project for AY 08/09)

• For God to prepare the hearts of disciples to step out and serve as SMs or GIG leaders, even as their SM challenge them. Disciples to be guided by the Holy Spirit in their process of decision-making.

• Current SMs to be empowered to press on in leading the remaining 4 DG sessions with joy and love in Christ, and will desire to continue serving as a SM in the next academic year.

• For graduating students to start seeking God and be led by Him regarding their future directions upon graduation.

• For God to open our eyes to see the need to co-labor with Him to do His will wherever He places us.

• Each one of us will walk humbly, continually and passionately with the Lord daily, reflecting the light of Christ in our lives.

Finding Rest in our Lord Jesus

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matt11:28-30

Prayer pointers:
- Pray for each other that we will look to God for strength.
- Pray that in the mist of busyness, we will not lose our FIRST LOVE for God.
- Pray that we will humble our hearts and depend on God in completing our quizzes, assignments, FYP and work (For those in IA)

Lastly, as we find rest in God, Let us never cease to proclaim the gospel to our friends and families.

Not weary of sowing

Galatians 6:9
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

1. Praise God for the 20,000 magazines that were successfully distributed out within the 3 days. :D

2. Thank God for the responses we have received at the everystudent website. :D

3. Thank God for all the faithful co-labourers who availed themselves to serve in the Naked i Campaign.

4. Pray that every student who received the magazine will read it and that their hearts and minds will be stirred up by the Holy Spirit.

5. Pray that we would grab this opportunity to invite pre-believers friends to the follow-up events, and for boldness, creativity and diligence when engaging with them into deeper discussion on spiritual issues.

6. Pray for protection and strength even as we persevere in sowing seeds for the eternal kingdom of God.

7. Pray for God's anointing over the lips of the speakers for the lunchtime talks, that He may use the speakers as His vessels.

8. Pray for God to strengthen us and grant us peace, as we enter a time of quizzes in school.

9. Pray for IA students to be enjoying their work, viewing it as an offering to the LORD, and not some chore/module to complete. Pray for opportunities, wisdom and courage to share the Gospel with colleagues.

10. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s leading and authority over the follow-up events.

Reaching for the Lost

Matthew 9:36-38
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

1. For awarerness that there are many who are still lost in this world of darkness.

2. For our Lord to direct us to His heart to have compassion for the lost.

3. For awareness of the permanence of God's salvation and righteousness.

4. To lean on Him to obey our call since we are being sent by the Son as the Father has sent the Son.

5. For His grace to work in our events in campus.

Some dates to bear in mind to be praying for:

• 12 Feb morning : Boon Lay Interchange – Pray for favor from authorities. Smooth flow at bus-stand. Will not meet any angry passenger. Crusaders who have later lectures will avail their time.

• 12, 13 & 14 Feb morning to evening : Canteen A & B – we will be able to capture students who had not received the magazine. Crusaders will have free time between lectures to come and help with the distribution.

• 19 Feb : Lunchtime Talk #1 – Fatal Attraction.

• 21 Feb : Hang Out @ NTU Party - Fund Raising for Andrew &

Prayer Pointers for Week 4: Sharing the gift of salvation in the season of Angpows

Acts 16:30-34
He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God—he and his whole family.

Pray:

1. we will be sensitive to the needs of our family members, relatives and friends.

2. we will always be ready to share our faith and the gift of salvation in this season of receiving ang pows (and for some, giving ang pows).

3. while we are in festive mood, let us not overindulge ourselves in food, drink or even gambling, but let us set an example and thus witness for Christ through our actions.

Put on the Whole Armour of God

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Eph 6:11)

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Cor 10:3-5)

Prayer: For God to strengthen us in His might, to be able to run this race, fight this war; which is not with worldly weapons and ammunition, against people, but with the armour of God, against all that opposes Christ our Lord.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph 6:12)

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Pet 5:8)

Prayer: That we will be always on alert, never to lose our guard, but to grow each day in Christ, repenting daily, denying ourselves and our desire for earthly pleasures, but instead growing in hunger for the Bread of Life.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Eph 6:13)

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. (Jude 1:3-4)

Prayer: That God will keep us in the Truth, to be well grounded in the faith, and to be able to withstand ungodly people who twist scripture to their own destruction.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (Eph 6:14)

If so be that ye have heard from him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Eph 4:21-24)

Prayer: That we will be established in God's righteousness, and not our own righteousness. We are made righteous by the blood of Christ which was shed for our sins.

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (Eph 6:15)

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Tim 2:15)

Prayer: That God will give us the desire and hunger to read, memorise, study and meditate on His word.

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Eph 6:16)

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Eph2:8-9)

Prayer: That we will trust in God who gives us faith in Him.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Eph 6:17)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Pet 3:15)

And that from a child thou hast made known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. (2 Tim 3:15-17)

Prayer: That we will be well equipped with the Word, keeping God's commandments close to our hearts and in our minds always, that we will diligently seek to do His commandments, that God's way will govern our lives.

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Eph 6:18)

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. (1 Pet 4:7)

Prayer Pointers for Week 2: Bearing the end in mind

1. Pray that we will put God first in our lives and surrender our hearts to Him.

2. Pray that we will reflect God's glory in school.

3. Pray that we will persevere and carry each other's burdens in this 'race'.

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

1. Pray for an attentive and obedient heart to God’s leading and guidance as we begin the semester.

2. Pray thought we will keep ourselves pure at all times, and make every thought captive to the LORD.

3. Pray for the Coverage Campaign ’08 that it will be a time for abundant sowing, and that God will soften the hearts of those whom we get to share with.

4. Pray that our lips be anointed so we know how and what to share
